A broker-in-charge license is required for membership in Consolidated Multiple Listing Service (CML).

An intiation fee of $2,500 must be submitted with the application. Any company applying for membership must come to the CML office to pick up an Application and the Bylaws and Operating Rules. No application can be sent to a prospective company via mail, fax or e-mail. All new companies are approved monthly and CML must receive your application by a date specified during that month. Within a few days after receiving your application, all company brokers/owners will be required to come to the CML office for a brief interview with the membership committee. You will then be notified of approval with 72 hours.

The location of the office must be a commercial place of business and cannot be located in the home.

Member: Those eligible for membership in CMLS shall consist of entities and/or individuals holding a license to engage in the real estate business within the Midlands of South Carolina who are primarily in the real estate business within primary areas served by CMLS shall quality for membership. The service areas include the counties of Richland, Lexington, Saluda, Kershaw, Calhoun, Newberry and Fairfield.

A copy of the Broker-in-Charge License and Business License must be submitted, if required by the town/city/county and each must show location of the local commercial office address.

All members must submit a resume showing their real estate activities for each officer/BIC.

Proof of E&O insurance must be submitted with application.

A Consumer Authorization for a national background check must be signed by the Broker-in-Charge along with all individuals who have interest in the company and/or officers of the company(to be filled out for each individual).

After approval, your company will then be notified and an appointment will be set for you to come to the CML office to receive your necessary information regarding membership with CML. You will also then have a chance to sign up for our training classes in order to access our web system and to get your keypad and forms. The current dues will be collected at that time (this is prorated based on when the company becomes a member).

Written Agreement. Each listing submitted by a Member Company shall be in writing on the Exclusive Right to sell Form as approved by the Board from time to time. No alteration of any kind to the provisions of the Listing Agreement shall be allowed. No material shall be included in the "Special Stipulations" section of the Listing Agreement which is inconsistent with or which modifies the printed portion of the Listing Agreement. No member Company or representative thereof shall make any agreement with an Owner, whether verbally or in writing, which varies, in any way, the provisions of the Listing Agreement provided herein.
